Renting in Peterlee

Peterlee sits in east Durham, a couple of miles inland from the coast. It was designated a new town in 1948 and named after Peter Lee, the miners’ leader who became the first Labour chairman of Durham County Council. The list above is whatever is free today rather than a brochure.

The A19 runs along the western edge of the town, putting Sunderland and Teesside both within about half an hour. There is no station in Peterlee itself; Seaham and Hartlepool are the nearest, both on the Durham Coast Line.

Because our radius covers five miles, this page also picks up homes in the surrounding villages — Horden, Blackhall, Easington and Shotton Colliery among them — rather than limiting you to addresses with “Peterlee” in them.
